The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester`s £42 million state-of-the-art
international concert venue. It opened its doors for the first public
event in September 1996. The Hall has received many accolades for it’s
stunning appearance and acoustics.
Situated near the G-Mex center it is the home to Manchester’s Hallé
Orchestra and has become the base for the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester
Camerata.
The Hall encompasses a comfortable & modern 2340 seat auditorium
designed to give the audience a ‘near-perfect’ acoustic ensemble,
offering a range of productions from International Classical music to
regional ‘light entertainment’ such as Jazz, Comedy &
popular music.
In March 1998, The Civic Trust Special Award was given to the Bridgewater
Hall for it’s contribution to the appearance of a city center. During
the same year the Hall also received an award from the Royal Institute
of British Architects.
