Tatton Park

Tatton Park spans 2000 acres, with 1000 acres of deer park and 50 acres of gardens. The Egerton family were the owners of Tatton for nearly 400 years but today it is one of the National Trusts most popular attractions. The park is home to red and fallow deer as well as many other types of wildlife and the animals at Home Farm.

Outdoor activities include bird watching, horse riding and fishing as well as golf, walking and sailing. The park has two lakes, Tatton Mere and Melchett Mere.

The park is host to over 70 major and minor events annually, encompassing concerts, fairs and exhibitions, notably the Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show and the Halle Fireworks and Light spectacular. Conferences, functions and educational visits are also catered for.

Tatton Hall
- The Georgian Mansion has sumptuously decorated staterooms and family rooms. Tatton Hall houses collections of Willow furniture, Baccarat glass, paintings by Italian and Dutch masters, Egerton family memorabilia, and porcelain. There are also servants quarters.

Gardens - Tatton's award winning gardens feature rare species of plants, shrubs and trees, including rhododendrons, bamboo and pines - the results of 200 years of collection by the Egerton family. There is an 18thC Orangery and Fernery comprising part of a collection of the finest glass houses in England. The Fernery was designed in the late 1850's by Joseph Paxton and provided Lord Egerton with a showcase for his collection of Australian and New Zealand Tree Ferns, which is now of national significance. There are Italian and Rose gardens as well as Tatton's unique Japanese garden

A day at Tatton Park has much to offer, its two historic houses, the Mansion and Tudor Old Hall, are set in 1000 acres of beautiful parkland with lakes, tree-lined avenues and herds of red and fallow deer. Award-winning gardens, a working farm, speciality shops and a superb programme of special events complete the picture.
Tatton Park is managed, maintained and financed by Cheshire County Council on behalf of the National Trust
